Company History

The company that would become Gulf Stream began back in 1971 in the town of Nappanee, Indiana, in the United States. Jim Shea founded a manufactured housing enterprise before he decided to begin building and selling motorhomes, fifth wheels and travel trailers under the Gulf Stream Coach name in 1983. 

Shea drew his inspiration from the many RV manufacturers in nearby Elkhart, Indiana, known as the world’s RV capital. The local Amish community was also an inspiration with their dedicated craftsmanship. The company is run by the Shea family to this day.

Gulf Stream’s catalog includes a whopping 22 different RV brands with over 140 models, including all types of motorhomes as well as towable RVs like fifth wheels and travel trailers.
